Financial aid and funding options
Several funding sources may be available for LIFE students.
Federal financial aid
The UW-Whitewater LIFE Program is an approved Comprehensive Transition Program (CTP). Eligible students may qualify for federal financial aid, including Pell Grants and federal student loans.

Self-directed supports and IRIS benefits
Students may also use self-directed supports or IRIS benefits to help cover eligible LIFE Program expenses. These funds may support areas such as:
- Daily living skills instruction
- Supportive home care services
- Self-advocacy training
Families are encouraged to consult with their IRIS consultant or funding coordinator to determine eligibility and allowable expenses.
