Memberships

Students, faculty and staff have access to the gymnasiums, fieldhouse, racquetball courts and pool. A membership is required for the Williams Center Weight Room and University Fitness (located in the basement of Wells Hall).

Current UW-Whitewater students paying seg fees do not need to purchase a membership. Memberships do, however, need to be claimed by completing the online form found on this or the FREE UW-W Rec Sports app. Please continue reviewing this site for more details.

Non seg fee paying students, faculty/staff, community, alumni and additional family memberships must be purchased in-person in Williams Center Room 100. Non seg fee paying students are now considered "community members."

Payment options for in-person membership purchases include cash, check, purple points or student billing. Faculty/staff members may use payroll deduction.

Sorry, no credit cards, although a no-fee ATM is located on the second floor of the Williams Center near the Sideline Cafe.

Student fitness memberships are included in seg fees. Fitness memberships may be claimed for the 2025-26 academic year beginning August 15, 2025. Memberships must be claimed by completing the membership claim Google form by signing in with your UWW NetID and password. Only students should be accessing this form and memberships cannot be claimed for other people (i.e. Person A cannot claim a membership for Person B).

Students returning from previous academic years: a new membership claim form must be completed. Any membership(s) you may have previously had will not be active. A new membership must be claimed each academic year as long as you remain eligible to claim one.

New students: claim your membership starting August 15. If you wish to use the fitness facilities prior to then, the appropriate pass must be purchased from Williams Center Room 100.

Policies for Persons Under 18
The Office of Recreation Sports & Facilities complies with UW-Whitewater Youth Protection and Compliance policies. Per rule, all members and facility users must be 18 years of age or older during the current academic year. During summer session only (as defined by the UW-Whitewater academic calendar), members/guests must be 15 years of age or older. Persons 15-17 years of age must have a legal guardian sign and date the membership contract at point of sale (online option not available).

Below Age 15 - not permitted to use facilities at any time
Age 15 - must have parent/legal guardian present in the same room at time of use - summer session only
Age 16 - parent/legal guardian does not need to be present at time of use - summer session only
Age 17 - parent/legal guardian does not need to be present at time of use - summer session only
Age 18 - no restriction; member is a legal adult

Individuals falsifying age will find membership privileges revoked and/or suspended, with refund status reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This rule also applies with parents/guardians who wish to recreate or use facilities with their children and/or supervise their children while using facilities. Infants and young children in carriers and strollers are prohibited. Rec Sports staff members reserve the right to refuse to process memberships/guest passes in these situations and are trained to do so. Membership/guest pass requests may be denied if applicant cannot produce identification that verifies legal age.

Athletes participating on a team reporting to Intercollegiate Athletics must claim their membership via Jump Forward. See your coaching staff for details on how this works.

All intercollegiate (i.e. varsity) athletes must abide by membership terms, conditions, policies and procedures at all times, even if they are with strength & conditioning staff. Athletes must bring their Hawk Card to swipe in in order to gain access to their membership when they are not with strength & conditioning staff.

Athletes are to use equipment reserved specifically for their team-related workouts by strength & conditioning staff and must respect other members and their space.

Memberships may be used any time during hours of operations, which can be accessed here.

Depending on the time in which a member wishes to use their membership, a session reservation may be required. This is due to the fact some facilities are shared by multiple user groups, including academics and Intercollegiate Athletics.
