Forget sales tax! With Purple Points, students save 5.5% on all on-campus food purchases. Plus, enjoy lightning-fast transactions—no cash, no cards, just a quick swipe and you’re done in seconds.

Simple, Secure, and Stress-Free

One card, one account—no juggling multiple cards or payment methods. Purple Points are fee-free and run through UW-Whitewater, so your funds are protected. If your card is lost or stolen, we’ll freeze your balance right away.

On and Off Campus Convenience

Purple Points work almost everywhere—on-campus dining locations, the University Bookstore, vending machines, and select off-campus businesses. They’re the easiest way to pay across campus and beyond.

Flexible and Easy to Reload

Add funds through your student bill, online deposit via Transact eAccounts, or in person at the HawkCard Office. Faculty and staff can reload just as easily. Balances roll over each term and unused funds are fully refundable (if you have $5 or more) when you leave UWW.

Frequently Asked Questions

The minimum deposit to open a Purple Point account is $25. We recommend an initial deposit of $300–$350 for the academic year.

Before adding funds, you’ll need to set up your account by calling 262-472-1437, sending an email, or stopping by the HawkCard Office in UC 250.

  • Once your account is active, you can make additional deposits anytime during the academic year.
  • When you make a purchase, your remaining balance will appear at the register or on your receipt.

Please note: Purple Points is not part of the UW-Whitewater Warhawk Dining Program.

Students:

  • Visit the HawkCard Office to pay with cash, check, credit/debit card, Apple/Google Pay.
  • Add funds online with a credit/debit card (minimum $25 plus a $1.50 transaction fee) via Transact eAccounts (Online HawkCard Office).
  • Add to your Student Bill before each semester or during the first 5–6 weeks of the term.

Parents, Guardians, or Guests:

  • Pay with cash, check, or credit/debit card at the HawkCard Office (UC 250).
  • Mail checks payable to UW–Whitewater (memo: “Purple Points” + student’s 7-digit ID number) to:
    HawkCard Office, 190 Hamilton Green Way, UC 250, Whitewater, WI 53190
  • Use the guest deposit feature (minimum $25 plus a $1.50 transaction fee) on Transact eAccounts (Online HawkCard Office).

Faculty and Staff:

  • Pay with cash, check, or credit/debit card at the HawkCard Office.
  • Set up regular deposits through bi-weekly or monthly payroll deductions (forms available at the HawkCard Office).
  • Add funds online with a credit/debit card (minimum $25 plus a $1.50 transaction fee).
Add Purple Points Online

According to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) we are unable to share this information. The law is designed to protect the privacy of the student. The student may, however, give permission for a parent, guardian, or any other party to have access to their Meal Plan, Purple Points or Dining Dollar information, by completing a FERPA form and returning it to the HawkCard Office.

When you graduate or withdraw from the University and your account balance is $5 or more, you can request a refund by closing out your Purple Point account by completing this form.

  • Dining Dollars can be used anywhere on campus for food purchases at Dining Locations.
  • Purple Points are accepted anywhere on campus that accepts cash (including vending machines) and at select off-campus locations.
