The Andersen Multimedia Lab offers Collaboratories for group projects and multimedia software for audio/visual and design needs. Audio/visual equipment checkout is also available.

  • PC and Mac computers are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Course related printing is available to UW-Whitewater students at no cost. There is a limit to the amount of copies you can print per semester. Color and large format printing is available in the Media Lab.


CollaboratoryCollaboratory meeting rooms are available for students to work with teams on group projects in Andersen 1008. Rooms are available in three hour time periods and need three students and a student ID to use the room.

Rooms are equipped with:
  • A desktop computer with the same software as a lab computer
  • A projector connected to the desktop computer
  • A Smartboard for projection and collaborative note-taking.

PC laptops are available for checkout for the duration of room use. 

Reserve a collaboratory by contacting the Andersen lab attendant. Collaboratories are held for ten minutes after the reservation time. After ten minutes, the collaboratory will be open to other users. 

Media Lab

Sound BoothLocated within the Andersen General Access Lab in L1008, the Media Lab enables students to work with a variety of different A/V and print technologies.

Small format color Printing is available in 8.5" x 11", 11" x 17" or 13" x 19" in regular, matte or gloss paper.

Large Format Printing:

Poster printing requests are submitted online using the Poster Printing Request form. All poster requests require at least 1 business day for processing.  During heavy printing periods such as Undergraduate Research, it may take longer to process your request.

  • Posters up to 40"x40": $25.00, $5 for every additional 20" in length (up to 80")
  • Lamination up to 40"x40": $6.00, $2 for every additional 20" in length (up to 80")
  • Poster Tubes are available for $5/each

Need to book a Collaboratory Room?

You can reserve a room with Collaboratory rooms can be reserved for groups of 3-6 people, for a maximum of three hours. Collaboratory room numbers are L1008D-L1008H. Lab attendants can provide assistance with collaboratoryreservations. Failure to show up 10 minutes after reservation time results in forfeit of the collaboratory. Students must bring a valid student ID and are responsible for all equipment. 

Need to print a poster?

Poster printing requests are submitted online using the Poster Printing Request form. All poster requests require at least 1 business day for processing.  If you have any questions or concerns send an email to or call 262-472-7028.


Need a computer lab for a one-time event?

From time to time, individuals or departments may need to use a lab facility for a one-time event that requires hands-on participation, such as a training workshop or group orientation. General access lab facilities may be able to accommodate these occasional needs.

Using, submit a request for  MG0019B or MG0019C. Both rooms have a projector. Reservations will be subject to approval by lab managers. Reservation requests for a general access room must be made at least three weeks in advance, and the use of the room must be for use by UW-Whitewater faculty, staff or students. Requests will be generally be approved, except in cases of a scheduling conflict, a loss of sufficient open access to students or a software setup that is difficult to accommodate.
