Welcome to PreCollege Programs at the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater!

I started at UW-Whitewater as a student majoring in psychology where I had countless rewarding educational and leadership experiences. Shortly after graduation I began working on campus full time with various offices including: Latino Student Programs, College of Business & Economics, Student Support Services, Academic Standards, Residence Life, and now, PreCollege Programs. During this time I also received my Master of Science degree in Curriculum & Instruction - Higher Education. While growing up, I was very lucky to have parents supportive of my education, but as a first generation student, I couldn't always turn to them for the help I needed navigating through college. There were many staff members at UW-Whitewater that showed me the ropes and assisted me in the rough patches. I still turn to these staff members for professional guidance and appreciate the generosity of their time and caring. I sincerely hope we can be that support system for you as you explore the world that opens up through education.

Welcome to the Office of PreCollege Programs Website. My name is Jessie McGowan and I serve as the Office Operations Associate for Student Diversity, Engagement and Success. My responsibilities include administrative, managerial, and event planning duties in support of the PreCollege Programs, as well as the King/Chavez and Post-Secondary Engagement Programs. I was born and raised in Wisconsin and had the honor of completing my undergraduate studies here at UW-Whitewater, graduating with my Bachelors in Science in Liberal Studies in December 2017.
