June 7, 2012
On May 19 and 20, five team members of the Lady Warhawks were competing for their countries in Frankfurt, Germany. Sarah Binsfeld, Becca Murray, Desiree Miller and Dan Price travelled to Germany with Team USA, while Mareike Adermann was representing the host: Team Germany. The four nation's tournament held here was part of their preparation for the Paralympics 2012.
Almost all of the teams that competed in Frankfurt continued their trip by flying to Manchester, England. There they competed again, this time in the BT Paralympic World Cup.
Both tournaments were won by Mareike Adermann and her team from Germany, while the other Warhawks took second and third respectively with Team USA. All of them had some ups and downs as USA beat Germany once and Germany beat USA twice throughout all of the games, and Desiree Miller had to take a break because of getting sick one day. In the end, each of them improved from one day to the next and worked with each of their teams on their journeys to the biggest competition of the year; The only competition in which results really matter: the Paralympics in London this September.
All of our Warhawks had a great part in the tournaments and were some of the leaders for their teams. We are proud of their accomplishments and will continue to report from their way to London. The next stop will be Birmingham, Alabama at the end of June.
