Q: When am I assigned a new Advisor?

A: Any student declared in a Major held by the College of Letters and Sciences will be reassigned an Advisor once they have reached over 24 credits. If a student reaches this at the end of the fall semester, students will be reassigned to their new Advisor on the first day of the Spring semester. **If a student took a Winter term course (which will put them over the 24 credits once finished) and the final grade isn’t in by the start of the spring semester, then that student will be reassigned to their new Advisor once the final grade/credits have been posted. This could be a week or so after the start of the spring semester, in the meantime you can reach out to your AAEC Advisor for help if needed.

*There will also be a Jumpstart event during the 2nd/3rd week of February that explains the College of Letters and Sciences Advising.

Q: How can I see who my new Advisor is and how do I contact them?

A: You can see who your Advisor is in WINS. Clicking on the AAR and Advising Tile from the WINS homepage will bring you to the next page where you will click on “Advisors” on the left hand side of the screen. Then you will see your listed Advisor(s) and their email address(es) will also be listed. (See Below)

A: You can meet either virtually (on Webex) or in person with your Advisor.

Q: What if I have a hold on my account? Who do I contact about my Advising hold?

A: lsadvise@uww.edu will answer any questions you have about your Advising hold. If you have met with your Advisor, they will tell the ADA of that department and they can remove your Advising hold.
