Faculty and Staff (blue) permits are valid in staff lots at all times, except on Prince and Prairie Street, where there is no parking between 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. Faculty and staff permits are valid 24 hours a day. The staff parking permit fee is $215.00 for the year, which runs from September 1 to August 31. The following are designated staff/commuter parking lots:
NORTH LOTS: 11, 18, 19, 21, 24, 25
SOUTH LOTS: 1, 2, 4, 7, 9, 12, 14, 25, Prince St, Prairie St.
NOTE: Lot 2R is only for residents yellow permit year round, no staff parking is allowed
Staff (blue) permits may be purchased through payroll deduction. Bi-weekly payroll deductions will begin in September with 8 deductions.
If an employee leaves the University, they are responsible to return the permit to Parking Services their last day on campus. If an employee purchased the permit through payroll deduction, and does not return the permit to Parking Services their last day on campus, the employee will have the remaining balance deducted from the last paycheck.
Academic staff that are nine month contracts are not eligible for permit refunds.
Ownership of this permit is retained by UW-Whitewater. Resale, transfer, or duplication is prohibited. Use is restricted to registered user. Unauthorized use may result in a fine, revocation, and prosecution for theft/misuse under 943.20(1)(a) Wisconsin State Statutes or UWS 18.08 (8).
A limited number of reserved (red) parking spaces are available for faculty, staff, and students. Vehicles parked in a reserved stall without the appropriate permit will be ticketed and towed at owners expense. Reserved stalls in campus parking lots are reserved at all times and are designated with red signs to match the red permit.
Contact Parking Services regarding availability. In areas where all stalls are assigned, a waiting list is maintained.
The cost of a reserved (red) permit is $515.00 per year.
A registered permit holder who forgets their parking permit for a day, will be issued one free temporary permit per semester. Any additional permits needed within that semester, will be charged $5.00.
Parking is enforced 24/7 except for University recognized holidays (see FAQ section for the list of Holidays) and starting at 5 pm Friday's until 11 pm Sunday's. Parking reserves the right to close lots when needed for events or for snow plowing.
The annual cycle permits costs $55.00 and is required for all motorcycles, mopeds and scooters. If you purchase a vehicle parking permit, the cycle permit will be $5.00. Parking in designated areas marked for cycles only; parking in auto stalls is prohibited. The permit is an adhesive permit that must be affixed to the cycle and are not refundable.
