“Pa’lante: Onward with Art” | A project-based learning unit for the heritage Spanish classroom
Lead your students in an engaging learning experience about art, resistance and the people of Puerto Rico, both on the island and the U.S. mainland. Explore history, culture, current social issues, music, dance, and more as you engage students in learning about resistance through art. Note: All languages are welcome in this workshop! Jen and Michaela are Spanish/English bilingual and translanguaging will be used throughout. *Note: This unit deals with political realities and topics. These topics include: US colonialism, the Young Lords organization, anti-Blackness and colorism (and their roots in the enslavement of Africans and white supremacy), and Trans rights/LGBTQ+ rights.

Standard Fee - $100
The fee includes instruction.
Discounted Fee:
- Group (must include names of registrants in group to receive discount): $80
- For speakers and teachers of Indigenous languages: $0
- RIFLA Member Teachers: $75
Make sure to check your qualifying discount in the registration if you qualify. Discounts cannot be applied after you register and pay. Discount will be removed if you do not qualify.
