College Acceleration Program (CAP) Capstone

Eligibility

Students entering 9th - 12th grade by fall of the upcoming school year are eligible.

Objectives

This program focuses on the essentials of college preparatory math, science, and writing. Students will focus on developing study skills and notetaking skills, learning citation style, and refining academic writing skills for academic success in college.

Goals

This program will include intensive instruction in math, writing, and laboratory natural science; instruction in math, science, and academic writing concepts to develop critical thinking skills; use of scientific theories and interactive problem-solving projects; reviewing academic journals, and developing academic writing skills with an emphasis on critical thinking and analysis to create college-level writing.

Enrichment components will engage students with speakers, workshops, field trips, and career information sessions to facilitate academic success.
