Welcome to the College's Advising Assistance Center!

We are excited to help you navigate the College of Education and Professional Studies at UW-Whitewater. Our office is located in Winther Hall, room 2003, and our hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm. We primarily assist prospective and current UW-W students, whether first-year, continuing, transfer, re-entry, or post-baccalaureate, with program information and requirements. Our office also has materials available for students on requirements for Admission to Professional Education, Praxis CORE, the Future Teacher Program, Minority Teacher Prep Program, student teaching abroad, and student teacher internships.

Please note that the Advising Assistance Center does not replace your assigned advisor; rather, we serve as an additional resource to assist you with academic planning, understanding requirements for Admission to Professional Education (teacher licensure programs only), and interpreting institutional policies. Your faculty advisor(s) will assist you in the development of an educational plan. You, the student, have the ultimate responsibility to know the requirements, to monitor your course of study, to fulfill all licensure requirements (if pursuing a license), to fulfill all degree requirements (if pursuing a degree), and to take the initiative to seek advising. Assistance is available through partnerships with staff and faculty advisors.

For more specific advising information based on your individual needs, please select the type of student you are at the left. Further Advising Assistance Center services are listed below.
