This is a community for students interested in science careers.
Students will explore careers in different science disciplines, including Biology, Chemistry, Geography & Geology, and Physics. Students in this learning community will spend the fall semester completing their Math requirement to gain entry into courses pertaining to their intended majors. Placement in this Learning Community will be based on your Math ACT score. Once you have completed your Math placement test, you may have the opportunity to join Double Helix.
Who can I live with if I join this Learning Community?
- You can live with anyone who has a room assignment in Tutt Hall, including students who sign-up for Double Helix or HelaHawks
- Majors in biology, chemistry, physics and undeclared majors considering a science major.
- Students testing in Math 41 or 141. Students who complete Math 141 in their Fall semester with a C or better will have the opportunity to take Introductory Biology, Introductory Chemistry or Math 152 in their Spring semester.
- Beginning Algebra (Math 41), Fundamentals of College Algebra (Math 141), Individual and Society (Gened 130), Introductory Biology I (Bio 141), Introductory Chemistry I (Chem 102), Service Learning and Leadership
