FINDING YOUR PASSION!

Continuing Education and Adult Student Services are co-sponsoring an event called “Finding your Passion and Still Balancing Your Responsibilities” by Jessie Garcia. Many of us recognize Jessie as a Milwaukee-area sports journalist and host of the Mike Holmgren and Mike McCarthy shows. In addition, she is a mother and author and will talk about finding balance and rewards through life’s everyday challenges. The event will be held on Thursday, January 19th at 4pm. We are encouraging all students and staff who “wear many hats” to start the new year out with a fresh outlook and come hear her speak. Refreshments will be provided and she will have her book “My Life with the Green and Gold” available for signing and purchase.  For a printable flyer with additional information, choose this LINK.

USC PERSONNEL REVIEW COMMITTEE

As of July 1, 2015, university staff may choose a panel of their peers to hear any grievances they may file, or to hear the appeal of a complaint filed against them. If you are a university staff member, or know one who may be interested in serving as an Impartial Hearing Officer (Grievance) or on a Complaint Review Committee (Complaints), please email usc@uww.edu for further information. The complete committee description is available in the Mission Statement and Bylaws link to the left.

University Personnel System

New personnel rules and policies took effect July 1, 2015.  The UPS Policy Committee is working on individual policies and looking for input and participation from all university staff.  Several policies have UW-Whitewater specific versions that have been approved by UW-W Administration and UW-System.  They are:  Grievance, Layoff, Workplace Conduct Expectations and Complaint.  Copies of the approved policies can be found on the Human Resources page.

Follow the Related Links to the left to view additional information.   If you are interested in participating in the continuing process of policy review, contact any of the UPS Policy Committee members for more information.

Facebook Page

The University Staff Council is on FACEBOOK.  The page is for university staff members to interact with each other and their representatives on USC Council about issues that affect employment or to share information with each other.  USC Council and committee members will also share events and resources and add files that are relevant to university employees.  More information may be found at the Facebook link.
