NEW Certificate Programs through Continuing Education

Continuing Education announces new certificate programs. These programs are designed for working people, like members of the University Staff, who want to learn new skills or brush up on ones they already have. Compensation Administration Tool

Due to a change in how state agencies record and budget hours, UW System has switched to using the Compensation Administration Tool (CAT) to calculate yearly salaries. As such, university staff budgeted salary lines are switching from 2088 hours to 2080. From our budget office: "The budgeted hours have been calculated at 2088 hours for many years to account for the 27th pay period that happens once every 11 years.  All state agencies are moving to budgeting at 2080 (which is the actual number of hours 1.0 FTE works in a year, 52 weeks*40 hours). Since we are moving to a new compensation tool for budgeting, UW System will be making the change now to budgets as well.  HRS will remain at 2088 until the next upgrade."

USC PERSONNEL REVIEW COMMITTEE

As of July 1, 2015, university staff may choose a panel of their peers to hear any grievances they may file, or to hear the appeal of a complaint filed against them. If you are a university staff member, or know one who may be interested in serving as an Impartial Hearing Officer (Grievance) or on a Complaint Review Committee (Complaints), please email usc@uww.edu for further information. The complete committee description is available in the Mission Statement and Bylaws link to the left.

University Personnel System

New personnel rules and policies took effect July 1, 2015.  The UPS Policy Committee is working on individual policies and looking for input and participation from all university staff.  Several policies have UW-Whitewater specific versions that have been approved by UW-W Administration and UW-System.  They are:  Grievance, Layoff, Workplace Conduct Expectations and Complaint.  Copies of the approved policies can be found on the Human Resources page.
