Dr. James Collins

Dr. James Collins is an associate professor of special education, a school psychologist, a board certified behavior analyst, and the director of UWW-W LIFE. He accepted a position at UWW-W in 2013 and absolutely loves helping students learn. In addition to helping prepare preservice teachers to become outstanding future educators, he’s also passionate about improving outcomes for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Dr. Collins began the development of UW-W LIFE in 2015 and is excited about the opportunities that it provides for students in the program, as well as for the campus community. He’s grateful to be working with such a talented team of staff members because they have helped transform lofty ideas into action and they continue shaping the program in new and innovative ways, which ultimately has resulted in a product that all of us are incredibly proud of. When he’s not at work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and dogs, reading, and keeping up with financial news and the stock market.
