For fall 2021, colleges and departments are offering First-Year Interest Group opportunities for new freshmen in place of the Learning Communities program, which concludes in spring 2021.

College of Education and Professional Studies  

The College of Education and Professional Studies is offering two first-year interest groups for fall 2021 (Together We Teach and Live&Learn).  Students will live in Knilans Hall and be enrolled in linked courses, including Special Education 205 (introduction to special education) and New Student Seminar (INTRAUNV 104) in cohorts of 25 students.  Each group will be led by a faculty or staff member in the College of Education and Professional Studies.

College of Letters and Sciences

The College of Letters and Sciences is offering three first-year interest groups for fall 2021 (Get Psyched!, Legal Eagles, and Thinking in Code).  Students will be enrolled in linked courses, including New Student Seminar (INTRAUNV 104) and a general education course in cohorts of 25 students.  Each group will be led by a faculty or staff member in the College of Letters and Sciences.

King/Chávez Scholars

The University Athletics program is offering two first-year interest groups for fall 2021. Students must be invited to participate in this first-year interest group. Students will be enrolled in linked courses, including New Student Seminar (INTRAUNV 104) and Personal Health & Fitness (PEGNRL 192) courses in cohorts of 25 students.  Each group will be led by a head or assistant coach.
