Computer Labs

UW-Whitewater academic computing labs are used by students and instructors for scheduled courses, project work, and open access.  Lab services are available to students and instructors through a Net-ID login.

ITS lab services include planning and consultation, hardware installation, software installation and updates, asset tracking, network printing services, workstation security, usage statistics, and problem diagnosis and resolution.

Getting started with Computer Labs

Academic department specific computer labs are available across campus. These labs are maintained with department specific software in addition to base software available in the General Access Labs.

General Access Labs are open to students, instructors, staff, and community members. Andersen, McGraw and the Library have black & white printing and scanning stations available, free to enrolled students.

  • PC and Mac computers are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Individual staff and departments may reserve a room
  • Course-related printing is available to UW-Whitewater students at no cost. There is a limit to the number of copies you can print per semester. Color and large format printing is available in the  Media Lab.

CollaboratoryNeed a room for a group project? Collaboratory meeting rooms are available for up to 6 students to work on group projects in Andersen General Access Lab, L1008.

Reserve one of the Collaboratory meeting rooms (L1008D, L1008E, L1008F, L1008G, L1008H) from the comfort of your own home through our reservations page. See lab attendant upon arrival and bring your Hawkcard.

Rooms can be reserved for a maximum of three hours per use. Time may be extended if there are no other groups waiting to use the room.

Rooms are equipped with:

  • Large screen TV with HDMI and VGA connectors to project.
  • Conference tables with power outlets.
  • Whiteboard wall for collaborative notetaking.
