Every semester we offer the opportunity to explore interesting texts with colleagues from across campus

Supporting Equitable Teaching

In the summer of 2022, the LEARN Center sponsored an opportunity for UW-Whitewater instructors to focus on small course redesigns to implement new or additional equitable practices in their courses during the 2022-23 academic year.

Examples of possible projects included, but were not limited to, the following:

Techniques to provide clear expectations on the first day and beyond
Reviewing cultural references and examples
Establishing fair grading policies through the use of robust rubrics and other tools
Creating an inclusive syllabus
Plans to support students’ mental health challenges
