Teri Frame received a Master of Fine Arts Degree from The Pennsylvania State University, and Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees from the Kansas City Art Institute. Although she was trained as a ceramist, performance art, photography, and video have come into her work and she continues to move among these genres. Her research addresses notions of human beauty and their inextricable link with corporeal politics. Such topics have been at the forefront of philosophical inquiry for centuries. In this contemporary setting, where aesthetic surgery and genetic manipulation abound, they are particularly relevant. Frame has exhibited and lectured nationally and internationally. She has taught at The Pennsylvania State University, the Kansas City Art Institute, and the Alberta College of Art and Design, and has completed artist residencies at the Interlochen Arts Academy, Emmanuel College, The MacDowell Colony, PlatteForum, and the Museum of Outdoor Arts. Her work has been featured in Ceramics Monthly, Monthly Ceramic Art Korea, and the Australian-based Ceramics: Art and Perception International Journal.
