Turnitin offers a suite of tools that are available inside of Canvas and used by hundreds of institutions designed to discourage and prevent plagiarism in an academic setting.

Originality verifies a student's original work while also offering instructors easy-to-use feedback tools that streamline grading. The Similarity Checker compares a student's submission to common internet sources and to submissions from their peers in the same course.

Peer Review allows students to read, comment, and learn from the feedback of their classmates as a part of the writing process!

Getting Started with Turnitin

Turnitin does not identify plagiarism but instead rates the originality of a student’s work in comparison to Turnitin’s databases, previous work submitted via Turnitin, and resources such as journals and periodicals.
