Background Check

If the position you are being hired into has been determined to be a "Position of Trust". The University of Wisconsin - Whitewater requires that a criminal background check be conducted on current employees and non-employees holding a, "position of trust with access to vulnerable populations," as defined in this policy, who have not previously been subject to a criminal background check by the University.  It also requires a subsequent background check on individuals holding a "position of trust with access to vulnerable populations," at least once every four years.  It further states that any individual holding a "position of trust with access to vulnerable populations," must report any time that they are charged with a crime regardless of whether it was committed during work hours or outside of work hours.
