Welcome to Housing at the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater! We have a variety of options to help make your transition to campus as smooth as possible. The tabs below will provide information on different aspects of the move-in process. Some of them may not apply to your situation. Pay attention to your UWW email account for updates regarding your room assignment and move-in processes.
Together, we can make the Move2UWW a great transition!
The official Move-In process for University Housing is known as "Drop 'n Go". This program was implemented in the Fall of 2020 with great success. There is no charge for participation in Drop 'n Go, as this is required of all students living in the Residence Halls.
All students living in the Residence Halls (including Cambridge Apartments) are required to register for an Drop 'n Go appointment time to move-in for the Fall semester. During the student’s appointment time, students will receive their Residence Hall room key, and have the opportunity to move all personal items into their Residence Hall room before returning home that evening.
Appointments are available August 25 th-September 2 nd. Appointments will be available on August 25-28th and August 31-September 2 from 9-10:15am, 10:30-11:45am, noon-1:15pm, 1:30-2:45pm and 3-4:15pm. Appointments on August 29th and 30th are only offered from 9-10:15am, 10:30-11:15am and noon-1:15pm. This scheduling will allow for decreased traffic on campus, and increased efficiency for our families helping their Warhawk move to campus.
Sign-up for Drop 'n Go will begin at 9am on Wednesday, July 27 th and will remain open until Monday, August 22 nd at 9am. To sign up, students need to log into the Student Portal. A confirmation email will be sent to the student after their appointment time has been accepted.
After Making an Drop 'n Go Appointment:
Upon arrival to campus, students will report to Parking Lot #2 to receive their Residence Hall room key via our drive-thru process. Room keys will only be issued to the assigned student, and students must show a Photo-ID (HawkCard, Driver’s License, etc.) to receive their key.
After receiving the room key, students will proceed to their Residence Hall to move personal belongings into the room for the Fall Semester. Students will have until 7pm to remain in their Residence Hall room to organize their belongings. At 7pm everyone must depart the Residence Hall, unless they are an approved Early Arrival. More information on the Early Arrival process can be found here.
First year students should return to campus on Sartuday, September 3 rd to participate in Orientation activities on September 3 rd-September 5 th. Returning students should return to campus on Sunday, September 4 th and 5 th. All classes for the Fall semester will begin on Tuesday, September 6 th.
During Drop 'n Go, Consider the Following:
