Standard Process

Company Website: http://www.standardprocess.com

Background: Standard Process provides health care professionals with high-quality, nutritional whole food supplements and herbal products to support the healthy functioning of the endocrine, cardiovascular, digestive, hepatic, respiratory, skeletal, renal, and other physiological systems. Many of our raw materials are grown organically on company-owned farmland and then processed utilizing exclusive manufacturing techniques. We monitor our raw materials throughout the entire manufacturing process using continuous quality control testing. In addition, Standard Process conducts both clinical and basic research to determine the efficacy and ensure the safety of existing and future products.

Purpose of Standard Process Research Internship: To expose students to various aspects of Research and Product Development in an industrial setting. It is also expected that students will improve their research skills through exposure to a diverse set of analytical techniques.

Structure of Standard Process Research Internship: Interns will learn scientific techniques from a number of members of the Standard Process research group. The Standard Process mentor will guide interns throughout their internship and represent a source of information about Standard Process as well as a resource for learning analytical techniques. Interns are expected to commit a minimum of 6 hours per week, although more hours would be possible. Ideally interns will have 2-3 hr blocks of time available for work with Research and Development. Concurrent with their work experience in Research and Development, interns will conduct a literature review of a current project. Internships will be 16 weeks (1 semester) long.

Opportunity: Standard Process anticipates that the internship experience may evolve into independent project or honors thesis research in subsequent semesters. Summer employment is also a possibility.
