ATTENTION:

The Department of Career Leadership & Development seeks a Greek Community & Service Coordinator (Associate Student Services Coordinator - Level 4).

JOB DETAILS:

The Greek Community & Service Coordinator is part of a team whose individual responsibilities include shared responsibility for campus-wide Greek Advisement and programming, including rotational advising of Panhellenic, lnterfraternity, National PanHellenic Council and Joint Councils; and supervisory responsibility Graduate Assistant Greek Community and student Interns. The position brings together student leaders to foster community and enhance communication within the Greek community. They work closely with faculty, chapter, and alumni advisors of fraternities and sororities, as well as international organizations and Board of Directors for the betterment of the Greek community. Position responsibilities also include administering Greek Community Standards, Greek Educational programming and recognition. The position is also responsible for other departmental and campus planning including the Warhawk Ambassador Program, departmental service initiatives (Make a Difference Day) and other programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree in Higher Education Leadership or a closely related area.
  • Three years of full-time experience in student affairs environment.
  • Evidence of advising skills in a Greek setting, budget, facility, policy, student life programming and willingness to work nontraditional work hours is necessary.
  • A commitment to student development issues, teaching ability and the ability to assess student needs and develop programs to meet those needs.

  • Ability to establish positive and productive relationships with coworkers.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Be organized and self-directed.
  • Technology skills that will enable one to be successful in this role.

  • Able to represent the department and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in a positive manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Represent the department to the University community and external constituencies, such as national organizations and Alumni. Ensure the department is well respected by those we serve (Including students, faculty, University administration, parents, and employers) by effectively sharing the success and contribution of the department and Greek Life to the University's mission and strategic plan.
  2. Develop successful, collaborative relationships within and outside of the University community in order to enhance student learning and achieve the department's mission and goals.
  3. Participate in staff meetings as well as participate as a member of the Greek Advising Team.
  4. Communicate the purposes & values of the Greek experience with students, faculty, families and community.
  5. Administration of policy and procedure related to the University chapter recognition requirements and Greek Community Standards.
  6. Administration of policy and procedure related to service offerings, resources and service programming.
  7. Will be an active participant i n following applicable safety rules and regulations, including necessary training and drills
  8. Attend all Full Council meetings and other Council events.
  9. Provide Executive Board and delegate education and development as coordinated with Council Presidents.
  10. Meet with Council Presidents weekly and Executive Board members monthly.
  11. Assist Executive Board with the planning and implementation of events.
  12. Maintain accurate and timely records of all bids given, grade release documentation and new member lists.
  13. Create a semester report on recruitment and retention.
  14. Meet monthly with each Chapter President represented by the Council to assist with Chapter goals and achievement.
  15. Foster collaborative events with departments, other Greek organizations and groups on/off campus.
  16. Serve as point of contact and support for any chapter that is under investigation for misconduct.
  17. Coordinate and attend all Joint Council Meetings.
  18. Administer and Coordinate the campus approved selection process of 24 Ambassadors.
  19. Coordinate development and recognition of Ambassadors as well as outreach to possible users of the Ambassadors.
  20. Assist and Participate in CL&D Intern program Warhawk Ambassador Training held each semester.
  21. Supervise the Graduate Assistant - Greek Community that assists in coordinating and implementing additional development at monthly meetings of Warhawk Ambassadors.
  22. Maintain all records of service, equipment, evaluations, scholarships and demographic information on services and Ambassadors.
  23. Support the University Commencement Ceremonies in supervising and evaluating Ambassador Work.
  24. Track 1 to 2 year retention rate and six-year graduation rates for Greek affiliated students.
  25. Design, coordinate and implement with students in the Greek 101 program.
  26. Assess what students have learned because of their participation in Greek 101, Council Leadership development, MADD, general service and the Warhawk Ambassador program.
  27. Review and Evaluate Greek 101, Leadership programs and track attendance of participants.
  28. Design and Implement a pre and post experience assessment for students on the Greek councils.
  29. Create Executive Summary of Greek Life at the end of each academic year.
  30. Utilize the funds allocated to the Greek Community, Leadership Series and Warhawk Ambassador Program.
  31. Coordination of the Greek wall in the Warhawk Connection Center.
  32. Serve as the Coordinator of the Greek Standards Committee. Administratively and programmatically responsible for the coordination of Standards process including seeking all appointees, calling all committee meetings, trainings, calendar of process, report generation & dissemination, incentive and deficit tracking and summary report creating as well as student leader training and process education.
  33. Plan and implement all aspects the Leadership programming with input from Greek student leadership.
  34. Coordinate the Greek Governing Council Membership Recognition annually.
  35. Serve as the coordinator of the Greek Expansion process.
  36. Supervise the Graduate Assistant- Greek Community in coordination of Greek Week. Work with leaders of the Greek community to create a wee k of events each spring.
  37. Assist as needed with any department/campus wide event as directed.
