Elevator Pitch Competition finals to be held Oct. 12

2015 Elevator Pitch CompetitionWitness six student entrepreneurs make a splash at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater's version of ABC's "Shark Tank." The Elevator Pitch Competition, hosted by the campus chapter of Collegiate Entrepreneurs' Organization, will be held at the Whitewater University Technology Park Innovation Center on Wednesday, Oct. 12, from 5:30-7 p.m.

"Each student has 90 seconds to pitch their startup. Students' ideas will be a range of innovative products and services," said Dave Gee, CEO adviser and lecturer in management.

The finalists and their business ideas are:

Sophomore general business major Austin Beveridge — Rate The Student
Senior entrepreneurship and marketing major Sam Lepak — Social River
Senior Spanish major Saul Morales-Mcquaid — Latino Pro
Sophomore marketing and entrepreneurship major Andrew Nimsgern — HydroGo
Senior entrepreneurship major Max Flanagan — Re-Bar
Sophomore marketing major Kristen Holtan — LEDEZ

"Students will get to experience the excitement and gain insights into what it takes to rapidly pitch your startup to other entrepreneurs and investors," said Gee. "Some students have gone on to raise millions of dollars in revenue and hundreds of thousands of dollars from investors. One student even appeared on ABC's 'Shark Tank.'"
