Several departments at UW-Whitewater offer exams for course credit or a waiver of course requirements.

Registration & Scheduling:

Please consult with the department in charge of the exam, and then the department will contact the Testing Center to approve you and send testing materials and requirements/procedures. You can then schedule a departmental exam by calling or emailing the Testing Center. There is a $40 administration fee for each departmental exam taken at the Testing Center and this can be paid at the time of the exam by student billing (for UW-Whitewater students), cash, check, or money order.

The DSST Credit-by-Exam Program gives you the opportunity to get college credit for learning acquired outside the traditional classroom. UW-Whitewater grants course credit for these DSST exams.

Registration & Scheduling:

You can register on the DSST website to take an exam at testing centers in Brookfield or Madison or via remote proctoring ( system check information). DSST requires payment for the exam at the time of registration via credit card.
