Leanne Kelso

Leanne Kelso teaches violin and viola at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Leanne was named the 2010 Teacher of the Year Award by the Wisconsin chapter of the American String Teachers Association. She has taken Suzuki training with Ed Kreitman and Ann Montzka-Smelser, and has experience as both a Suzuki parent and teacher.

Leanne is the associate concertmaster of the Madison Symphony, the assistant concertmaster of the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, and a member of UW-Whitewater String Trio. From 1996-1999, Leanne was a fellow at the New World Symphony in Miami, Florida, under Michael Tilson Thomas. Leanne completed her undergraduate degree at Florida State University, studying violin and baroque violin with Karen Clarke. She earned her Masterʼs Degree at UW-Madison where she studied with Vartan Manoogian.
