Students, families encouraged to plan ahead for winter storm

The National Weather Serviced has issued a winter storm warning for southeast Wisconsin for Friday afternoon through Saturday night. The Whitewater area is expected to receive 7 to 11 inches of snow, with windy conditions causing blowing and drifting snow on area roadways.
The 10 a.m. Saturday winter commencement ceremony at Kachel Fieldhouse will go on as scheduled.
Students, faculty, staff and visitors are urged to dress appropriately for the cold, use caution in travel and allow extra time to reach campus. To assist with snow removal, the university will have crews working on clearing sidewalks, streets and parking lots.
