Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Mental Health Awareness Training Grant

About Mental Health Awareness and Training Grant

The Southern Gateway Resilience Coalition (SGRC) is a newly formed program funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) established with the purpose of training individuals in identifying and responding to signs of mental health issues in others. Using state of art technology, the SRGC will attempt to push mental health awareness to the next level in Southern Wisconsin, so that no adult, child, or teenager feels like they’re alone with their struggles.

Why Should We Care?

Mental health awareness is quickly becomingone of America's most talked about movements, and for good reason. There are far too many affected by mental health problems, and not enough people to correctly recognize these problems and help those suffering from them, and the scary part about mental health is that anyone can be negatively affected by it and for a multitude of reasons. This leads to terrible outcomes such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, body dysmorphia, or in extreme cases suicide and even school shootings.
