Primary Instructor: Pam Jenson and Anne Fimreite
Course Description:
The number of youth with disabilities are underrepresented in the areas of work and postsecondary education when compared to their same age peers. The intention of the Career and Life Readiness course is to impact adult practices in connecting students with disabilities with opportunities that will prepare them to be career and life ready upon exiting high school. The objectives of this course are to: gain a deeper understanding of career and life readiness, recognize and identify equity gaps, gain insights into best practice environments, connect students to outside agencies, learn how to utilize data to make informed decisions, increase student postschool outcomes, and increase participation in career and life readiness activities for students with disabilities. This is a free, self-paced course utilizing both synchronous and asynchronous learning. This course has been created by the Wisconsin Transition Improvement Grant.
