Canvas Course Homepage and Navigation

Course Home Page

To get to the course home page, either click on the course icon in the Dashboard or use the navigation bar on the left-hand side of the page to click on Courses and click on your class name. If courses have not been added to Canvas, they will not show up on the Dashboard or Courses tab.

• Recent Announcements is a place for your instructor to share time-sensitive, urgent information that does not necessarily require a response (e.g. a class cancellation, or a new assignment posting)
• Course Content contain course files, syllabi, readings or other documents and appears on the main page under Recent Announcements
• Assignments are any online activity submissions graded by the instructor. Assignments include quizzes, graded discussions and online submissions such as files, images, text URL’s etc.
• Collaborations/Discussions allows multiple users to work together on the same document at the same time.
• Office 365 integrates with Microsoft products like Word and Powerpoint. It is an online filing system that allows the user to access and edit their documents anywhere they have internet connection. To login, use the same login and password that was used to login to Canvas.
• Google Drive integrates with Google apps. This integration allows students and instructors to use, create, share, and collaborate on Google Apps files within Canvas.
  *You can only view one Google Drive account at a time in Canvas.
• Grades enable you to view your grades either numerically or by letter grade.
• WebEx is an online meeting and video conferencing platform.
